GP100 .22

I picked this one up recently. I liked everything about it except the weight and the grips. I couldn't do anything about the weight but I put these hogue grips on which I prefer. I have not shot it for accuracy, just for function and it works great.

Hmm, after some research I’m kinda sitting on the fence. I like Colt’s offering, but it’s too pricey for this old Man. Double action. 22’s are expensive to manufacture I reckon. Oh well, the hunt is half the fun

I had a 4 inch GP .22lr for a while. I bought it used. It was a fine firearm I had no issues with it. I like the standard grips--although mine came with the standard grips and Hogue grips--kept the Hogue grips when I sold it--I have other GP's as well. I also have the 8rd SP 101 in .22lr. The GP was heavy for field use. I found my accuracy with the SP was a little better--have had it longer. I use the SP at the range and in the field--right sized .22lr revolver in my opinion. The GP was just too large to my liking for what I wanted out of a .22lr revolver--so I sold it. I do like the looks of the longer barreled GP .22lr, perhaps I'll try one again some day.

I see a lot of s&w 617's around. (39oz). I love mine.

The Ruger GP @ 42 oz seems crazy big and heavy for a .22.

The SP101 is a great .22 also.

My wife likes the SP101, I prefer the 617, but both are great

While not as pretty as the GP100, SP101 and S&W 317, I really like my LCRx 3" in 22LR. Pretty accurate, light and handy.

It may be sacrilege to say so here, but a distressed looking older K-22 may be just what you want. They are accurate and have great SA/DA triggers.
I do not have any DA Ruger .22 revolvers. My Redhawks and Security-Six are great in every way.

I had it out one time. Lol, it’s way more accurate than I am. Beautiful & well made revolver. The grips were too large so I found some NOS in the box Pach’s for it. Not as pretty but way more comfortable-Dave
