Buckeye
Last week my wife & I had some visitors from Oklahoma, Sheriff Russell Cottle & his wife drove up for a visit & we had a great time, never enough time to do all you would like but we crammed in as much as we could.
Russ is quiet & reserved, much like Ken O'Neill, liked to talk guns & hunting & liked Huckleberry shakes! Callshot bought the small ones so we didn't get much of a sample but it was a start.
We did some sight seeing around the county, shot a few ground squirrels & did a bit of long range shooting, thats always alot of fun. Callshot made one long range shot at about 12 yds, had to jack the rear sight up maybe 8 clicks to correct for the flinch!
Russ had some neat sixguns, brought along a 32-20 that was very nice & then pulled out a stainless mountain gun in 357 maggie with some nice micarta stocks that really a cool sixgun.
We didn't get to do any fishing but the highlight of the visit was a small bull moose that stuck his head out of the willows, I started calling him & he came maybe 30 yds closer & then stopped at about 45-50 yds & tried to figure out if I was his momma.
Would have been a dandy handgun shot.
It was a fun visit with some new friends, we enjoyed them a lot.
This is Russel on the left, Ruth Ann in the yellow, Metha (spelling) in the middle & Callshot, we are loading up on Huckleberry milkshakes!
If any of you ever get to Soda Springs, Idaho you have to treat yourself to El Toro Mexican food, believe me, I've ate it all over the country, this is good stuff!
Callshot & Russell Cottle ganging up on a ground squirrel.
Russ (sheriff) holding a nifty little 357 mountain gun.
Folks, this is a dandy trout hole!
This is Russ with a little bull moose checking him out.
