Kevin: This guy offered-up a chance for a nice photo,but I think she would have looked better in a tree rather than on a rock. The Ash-throated Flycatcher had feathers fanned out and sitting in a tree with new leaves. The Woodpecker is sharp so I cannot complain about that. :mrgreen: Dr.C

Doc, I tend to like this one better. Eyes are critical in any portrait. The eye in this is more interesting. Only thing I may have done differently was dodge out some of the reflection in the eye but the tack sharp focus on the eye, and the colors make this photo very interesting. Almost makes you wonder what the bird was thinking.

With your mad camera skills, you need to get over to Big Thicket and see if you can snap an Ivory-billed.

BTW, because of this picture I've had to retire my Peterson field guide and put the Sibley on top of the bird book stack.
