My life verse from the Bible is Proverbs 3:6 "In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths."

Last Wednesday I felt like I had an abscessed tooth. Now I have no regular dentist, and haven't been to a dentist in too long, nor do I have dental insurance. But I needed something done.

I left my sister's luncheon and thought about finding a dentist. I drove to an off street campus where I knew there had once been a dentist's office. Well, I found an office advertising a dental clinic and stopped and went in. Walking in off the street I was surprised that after filling out some information, I was soon in the chair. After a brief exam I was told not an abscess but a "pocket infection." I was given some antibiotics for a week. He had a plan for those without insurance, cost $299 per year. This includes two visits for clean, X-Ray, exam included in that price, plus 20% discount on all procedures. And both the dentist and technician I spoke with are Christians, and are young enough that they will outlive me. This was one of my qualifications, as my dentists have kept dying on me of late, as have my doctors.

But to have just walked into such a situation is to me proof that nothing happens to me merely by chance.

Good for you. That's quite a stroke of luck to find any (especially new) medical or dental provider that you don't have to wait weeks for an appointment. Does your medicare provider not include any dental coverage in your plan? I have United Health Care and they cover $1500 of dental at no cost to me.

My favorite bible verse is short, concise and says it all to me.
Psalm 46:10 "Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth."

Yes, Mr. Wright….God’s providence and sovereignty would together for those you love him, I shall fear no evil, for HE is with me!

As I am in the autumn of my years, I see HIS hand in all the blessings and circumstances of my life. IT is a great thing to know the True God personally.

I, too, have a special place for Psalm 46:10.

Good to hear you got in quickly. I have a coworker whose "first" appointment at a new dentist has been rescheduled 3 times. I figure God is giving her a hint…

I have absolutely come to see that much of what we call "luck" or "good fortune" is actually grace and blessings. "Coincidences" are often just the pieces of His plan falling into place in an overt way. And many times I have been stymied in a pursuit, only to find that the alternate path I was forced onto led to a far better situation. He is good...

Good story Bob.

It immediately reminded me of a Garth Brooks song;

"Unanswered prayers"

A line in the song goes; "One of God's greatest gifts is unanswered prayers." It just reminds me that He is still in charge and knows best.

Isaiah 41:10

So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
