No offense to anybody. I personally HATE Glocks, but they are reliable.

Life's too short to HATE an inanimate object... perhaps some medication would help?

:D

I've gone through a number of handguns, both revolvers and pistols, of various makes and models, trying to find the "just right for me" handgun. I've come to the conclusion that while I love the look and feel of a fine 1911 (and I own several) that the most practical handgun for ME, for general, everyday purposes, is a polymer semi-auto. I have had a number of them, including various Glocks, Rugers, S&Ws, XDs, Beretta Storms, and Taurus, but I've settled on Glocks for several reasons: they are reliable, they are simple and easy to maintain, you can buy parts for them in just about any gun shop or online retailer, they are not overly expensive, and while I wouldn't mistreat any gun I own, it's not one I would worry about getting some wear from use and carry. A Glock is a tool, and a good one. A 1911 is a work of art! So I have my 1911s to admire and enjoy, and my Glocks (19 and 26) to use for carry and protection.

I also have an LC9, and that is one sweet little pistol, too!

I tried to hate them for a while too. The benefits of a Glock are hard to deny forever though...for me at least. I have owned and sold many Glocks but I still have my favorite models that I probably wont ever let go. They have been 100%. Parts are everywhere and you have a great aftermarket it you ever want to modify it. Just my .02 but I say Glocks rock! And I bet a monkey could fieldstrip one too!

Honestly, people that complain about Ruger P series guns being too big, and then think Glocks are a great, I just don't get. Glocks feel like a plastic 2x4.

I would have bought a Glock originally, but the contoured grips feel awful to me. Once I had the SR9c in my hand, there was no need to look any further. Glock is a good gun, but so is Ruger.

Nothing! Palin is "real"! Glock is a plastic "imitation"!..................Dick

Anybody know what Glock and Sarah Palin have in common? Both are good for 5 pages of gun board threads.

I was going to see that neither of them felt good in my hands... but yours is true too.

One feels pretty good in my subjective hands, the other I could not say for sure, but have a pretty good idea. :P :P :P

I've had the Glock 23 and now own an SR40. There are some advantages to the Glock and some things I like better about the Ruger.
Glock: 20 years proven reliability, simple, 3 different sizes(full, compact, subcompact), tons of accessories
Ruger: better looking gun, slim grip, just as accurate and reliable so far, fully adjustable sights, less expensive, LESS RECOIL (that's a big one)

Might as well subject myself to a little abuse -

My first pistol is a 2nd gen G22 and I love it!

....but.... that cute little LC9 has caught my roving eye!
