Glock gen4 21

Anybody got one yet? What do you think? I had a gen 3 but it did not fit my hand well so I traded it. BUT that problem has been addressed with the gen 4 and my LGS has some but I'm holding back for right now. I want to let a few run the course before I bite. They seem to be getting good press over at Glocktalk.

Please be aware that any Gen 4 glock built before 7-11-11 except the G26-G7 has a recall on the recoil spring guide assambely .Glock will send you a new one free of charge you just need to contact them and give them the serial # of your gun and the'll ship you the new RSA. They say it will take about 30 days and they send you a pre paid postage package to return the old RSA.For any of you L.E.O's out there that might be effected by this ,they will overnight you a new RSA .I just found out about this the other day here on the forum ,Glock didn't send me a letter or E.Mail informing me of this ,I have one of the first Gen 4 G22's to hit the shelves and registered it when I bought the gun.As a matter of fact I had to wait for the gun as I had orderd it from my police suply store ,I got the first one they got .

Thanks Lou. I don't know the born on date of those at Whittakers but I'll check. He moves em in and out real fast so these are probably very new production. I do know I really like the 21 in gen 4. I passed on the gen4 19, decided to stay with my early gen 3 two pin model. I also have a gen3 17 and gen3 26, both NIB just waiting their day.

i got my "born on date" by calling glock and providing the guy on the phone with my serial number. He in turn kindlyprovided me the mfg date.

For all y'al that hate the Glock please remember one thing .I'ts not ment to be a thing of beauty ,it's ment to do one thing and thats be a VERY relibiale FIGHTING handgun .It's ment to keep on chugung when dirty covered in mud, snow, sand, water, run when oiled and when dry you name it .It's job is to keep you in the fight and they do thay VERY well .And their even accurate right out of the box .It's a TOOL not a pretty gem to look at .I've heard folks put Glocks down that have never even held one ,much less shot one or better yet ran a combat course with one .If you tried one and don't like them there plenty of other choices out there for you ,but for those of us who carry one every day and stake our lives on them,I don't think you can't get any better a DUTY GUN!. .so think what you will of them and if you don't like them then get something else ,but don't Rosie O'Donnell about them just because their not your cup of tea .

I never put glock down. It is what it is. Hopefully the new RSA fixes it. I want to be able to trust this gun again. All drama aside. Lol.

To actually answer your question, I have carried a Gen4 Glock 21 as my duty gun since August 2011. I have shot about 1200 rounds through it so far and have not had any issues. I have kept it cleaned and lubricated as any defensive carry pistol should be maintained.

The grip on the Gen 4 Glock 21 has interchangeable back straps. The medium back strap is the equivalent of the standard gen 3 G21 grip. Without any back straps it is the same size as a G21SF. I really like the SF sized grip, but what really makes the Gen4 series nice is the more aggressive grip texture and larger magazine release.

The only gen4 pistols that I have heard any bellyaching about have been the 9mms, and that seems to be on a case by case basis. I've run a gen4 Glock 19, 17, 22 and 21 and haven't had any issues with any...

Patrick, Thank you. I appreciate the hands on report. I have handled the G4-21 and I really like it. I have it on my short list. I have handled the G21 before but couldn't manage the grip very well. With the SF or G4 that problem went away. Thanks again. Alan
