Germantown, Tennessee is a suburb of Memphis, just to the east of the city. Its one of those communities where you leave Memphis City Limits and are in Germantown. It is the realm of old money and very exclusive homes, also home of a very prestigious horse show. Most residents are doctors, lawyers, or politicians.

In this morning's paper, The Memphis Commercial Appeal, there is an ad for the "Germantown Heritage Ruger." Shown is a Ruger Super Blackhawk, gold plated and engraved with mottos and scenes depicting Germantown. The text says twenty five will be made. No price was stated. Grips appear to be walnut, and laser carved with some kind of scene.

Often,,, a company will buy X number of guns,, and make a "commemorative" edition of it. It isn't factory. We had a company trying to do that with 10/22's around here a few years back,,, making them NC specific.

Germantown housewives are so sophisticated they drive with their legs crossed...

How many Germantown housewives does it take to change a light bulb? Two; one to call the electrician and one to pour the wine.

Many fears ago a radio station in Memphis was on a roll with one liners about Germantown.

I can almost see some of those folks out there with a gold-plated Ruger...
