One of the less known giants of the Cold War era just passed on. There should be a monument some where, some time... but few know anywhere near all he did for this country even in retirement.
Why put up a monument? Some snowflake in the future will decide to be offended because this guy hated Russians and we all need to move on and tear down any memory of hating the Russians.
I regret that I did not know more about him; but he was a memorable figure in a memorable book, "The Marauders" by Charleton Ogburn, Jr. about the Burma campaign. It's an excellent read...
