I mentioned in the other post on my new 1911 holster about a rig from Simply Rugged that Rob made for me that just makes a gun feel weightless on your belt. Figured I'd post a few pictures of them.
The first one is a pancake that Rob had built with Crocodile hide and I had to have it once I saw it. I had a rather colorful youth in SW Mississippi catching gators. This was before all the tv shows on the matter (which would have been VERY beneificial to the learning curve by the way) and I had some funny incidents that happened along the way that could have been avoided but oh well. So, when I saw these from Rob, I felt it was necessary to own one. this one is fit for a 4" N Frame Smith. The fit is great, it holds the gun nice and tight to your side and the gun is very snug and secure. This will be another that will be used this winter under my jacket. due to the design, it does not really "print" at all with a shirt, let alone a jacket. Weight is distributed nicely and therefore makes it very nice to tote a heavy sixgun all day. It has multiple belt slots allowing different carry positions. I hope the pictures show the details but the construction is wonderful! Nice clean lines and belt slots, stitching is great and tight. It's just a really clean, compact, and COOL looking rig. This is a 4" N Frame Model 58 thats in it. Rob also surprised me with a matching ammo pouch for your belt that matches this holster. I don't have a picture of it today as I let someone borrow it to see how they liked it and didn't have it available for the pic this morning. I need to get that back
The next one is one of my favorites. I saw a holster that Rob had made for my good buddy Jeff Hoover. He had used croc hide as an accent on the holster and I really liked the look when it was finished. I knew I wanted one that was of this design, I just didn't know what I wanted it to fit. I talked with Rob and Jeff about it and when I got back home from that trip, I was gathering things up to head down to the farm to fish and I immediately KNEW what I wanted Rob to have it fit. I have several of the Ruger MK 2 auto pistols that are extremely accurate and utterly reliable that make great bang around the farm and pond guns. Relatively light but still all steel so they aren't featherweights by any means. What I realized is that I love those guns but they were never carried on these trips because I didn't have a holster that fit them. I called Rob and he had recently been working on his Cattleman's line, correct me if I'm wrong on that one Rob. At the time, he had not done one for this gun style before with that line but he told me he'd come up with something. I told him to surprise me but I wanted the croc accent style rig. When I got it, I was thrilled. Rob used a rather large piece of croc hide that actually wraps around to the back of the holster. The bottom of the holster is stamped in a basket weave pattern. Like I always say, its the small details that you sometimes miss that I really like but if you look close, Rob oriented the basket weave in the same direction as the "hump" or ridges of the croc hide. Gives the holster a nice flow. The die really took to the croc hide and almost appears black but in the right light, you can see a hint of the oxblood color it appears. It transitions well into the leather color and stamped area. Everyone likes it when they see it the first time in person. The gun fit is perfect. Holds them very secure but releases immediately when you draw the gun. One of the cool things I noticed the first time I put it on was that the location of the belt loop area allows by thump to sit perfectly on it when I draw the gun. It almost springs the gun out of the rig when you want it. When I finally got to take it to the farm, I was more than thrilled. You literally will forget you have the gun hanging off the belt. With the wide top to help distribute the weight, its your best friend for toting the 22 along with you. These guns get used ALOT more now and they look good while they are out there I've not used this line of holsters with the larger sixguns and such but I bet they are wonderful based off of this one. This is a dark holster as I requested but I hope the pictures show the details. I've found that black/dark holsters are a real booger to get good photos of somedays!

I've not used this line of holsters with the larger sixguns and such but I bet they are wonderful based off of this one.
