Gas Prices Today

Just curious how these prices compare to where you are. This was today at Lake Jackson, Texas, about an hour South of Houston. It's interesting, because I drove back to Dallas. About half way, there is another Buccees and diesel there is $3.15, quite a bit more than here.

Northeast Wisconsin.... $3.95 for 91 octane ethanol-free, $3.49 for diesel. Very volatile, however..... could go up or down by a nickle or more every day.

State College to Harrisburg 87 Octane varies from $3.49 to $3.19. (PA has one of the highest gas taxes around and the politicians in either party don't seem to give d*mn).

There’s a station up north of here in Bossier City Louisiana, rhat’s got gas at $1.95 a gallon. Here locally the best I have is $2.43.

Lowest here is $3.59 for reg. Went up to $3.99+ depending on brand and station over Memorial Day weekend.

At the station I use most of the time $4.20. But we have among the highest state and local taxes on gasoline in the nation. Stations used to have to put stickers on the pumps that listed all of the taxes on a gallon of gas. But guess what, they only listed retail taxes. Oil is taxed multiple times between before the consumer ever gets it. The folks that get it out of the ground are taxed. Anyone who moves it is taxed, the refiners that make it are taxed, then anyone who moves the finished products are taxed. And I likely missed a few folks along the way.

And we are roughly $3.80/gal. A couple stinker stations have it for $3.69, but I have to drive a ways, erasing my savings.

And on the freeway exits, gas is $4.19/gal.

Add 20 cents a gallon for diesel.

I used to have a Lexus, they said you’ve got to use the high octane. Is that what you mean by top tier? Or do you mean name brand gas stations?
