I was sad to read that although he had a good run. Brilliant musician and fine man by all accounts.
Great band, no pun intended. Just looked him up to see how old he was, 87 and he died in Woodstock. Thanks for the great tunes guys
the last ones is gone. my favorite band...his was a multiple instrument, talented musician. his horn playing at the end of...... "it makes no difference" is pure gold!
Levon Helms is in the rock & roll hall of fame with the Band, and listed as one of the 50 greatest voices of all time. and I agree...

As I recall in July 1973 they play a concert called summer jam in Watkins Glenn NY. at the bottom of Seneca Lake. it was the Band, Greatful dead and the Allman Brothers Band. 600K people...my parents went!

The album pictured in Hittman's post was the first I ever owned, given to me when I was about 13 by a female friend of my parents, who was somewhat of a hippy chick. I played it a thousand times.
One of my favorite songs. Manual was always tearing up the piano. So sad. Takes me back to my old Jensen turntable and the bands album one of those no one could touch.
Time to to take a load off Garth. I'll miss ya buddy but not the bands back together now
