Ruger Guru
For sale only.
I am helping an elderly friend sell some of his personal items before he is unable to deal with things himself. I will offer stuff here first, before I send them to auction. This is my Ruger family & prefer to offer stuff to them before the general public gets a chance.
Sword. Officer’s Dress type. Black case, material leather, with carrying handle. Case in good condition, with some wear at folded edge stitching. Small paint smear on case. Inside the case flap is some markings. Under flap, “Pacific” is readable, but the rest is not readable. In the black portion above the snap is marked; “Hilborn Hamburger Inc. a symbol, N.Y. Top Grain Leather.”
Next is a tan cloth sword sleeve with a drawstring closure.
The sword has a sheath, black & brass colored. Some small areas are worn to show silver colored metal under the brass coating. Likely stainless steel. The black portion appears to be leather with possible liner material.
The sword itself is brass/gold colored handle & hilt. The handle has a white textured bone like material, (could be plastic as well,) wrapped with a thin braided like rope type metal material. The blade has about 1/3 of it with a form of etching or engraving with USN as a prominate feature. At the hilt, the blade is marked with; An eagle type symbol, and “ Hilborn Hamburger Inc. New York.” On the opposite side of the blade it is also marked; “Made in the USA.”
Attached to the end of the handle is a cloth braided gold material with a large portepee knot at the end.
By all appearances, this sword is a dress sword used by US Naval Officer personal.
I have no idea as to the age of this sword.
More pics can be emailed.
I need $450 shipped & insured.
