FS: Nice Ruger Old Model Single Six, s/n 379066. This is a blued, 6-shot, 22 LR revolver. This is one of the very early post-transition guns from early 1963 with the large serial numbers. It is 100% original, with the original lockwork (ie has NOT been sent back to the factory for the safety conversion). Bore is great, timing is good, lock up is tight. There is just a hint of bluing wear on the left side of the muzzle and some minor handling marks on the grips, all as seen in pictures. No box or papers.

Asking $475, shipped to your FFL or C&R.

Thanks for looking!

Those Old Model XR3-RED .22 L.R. ONLY guns are very rare. Most guns from 1963 on are convertibles. And by the way!!! You won't find them in this nice of shape very often either.

Is the bore of this model .22 LR only, or does it have the slightly larger .22WMR - compatible bore?

Thanks -

Monty

Monty,

I don't have any way to accurately measure the bore for such a small difference in diameter. However, my guess is that it is the larger bore as I think Ruger switched to a standard diameter barrel stock in 1959 when it introduced the 22 WMR round.

Thank you -

I'm sorry to have been unclear -

I was curious as to whether Ruger had switched over to the larger bore for this model, since it was only offered with the LR cylinder.

I wasn't requesting that you measure the bore, and thank you for the response -

After serial number 150,000, Ruger made the bore the same in all Single-Sixes and Super Single-Sixes. For production reasons they kept all barrels the same for the single cylinder guns and the convertibles. So this gun will be the larger bore as all Old Model .22 revolvers are after serial number 150,000
