Comments on another forum that gunsmith Dave Clements, Clements Custom Guns, is winding down his business preparatory to retirement. Dave has done some very fine work for me in the past, and his Ruger replacement parts, i.e. hammers and triggers, are first rate.

This is very sad to hear. When all the top gunsmiths retire, what will happen? I know there are guys like Bobby Tyler out there who has some time left to build some truly great firearms, but are there any others?

I do wish Mr. Clements all the best. It's exciting to retire. I know he's done some incredible work and undoubtedly deserves a break.
