Found a Duplicate Super Single Six today

Went to a gun show in a neighboring town today and found a very very very used Super Single Six with serial # D528695. I would rate the condition at about 75%. Price was $300.00 but the gentlemen let me have it for $225. I think I still paid a little too much, but I was about to leave the show and still had all my money so I figured I might was well give this old gal a good home. It is unconverted and only came with the .22LR cylinder. Not sure if it shipped with a Mag cylinder or not. Will call Ruger Monday and find out.

I have not done a thorough cleaning yet, but here are some pics (sorry about the quality).

That's a pretty rare gun. For a 750 or so run of "D" guns in that group, there really aren't that many known, so wouldn't surprise me if a few of the duplicated guns got out without being stamped with a "D".

Nice! I love finding "rare" stuff in "shooter grades". Then one can enjoy shooting them and not worry about values, etc.

I would of give $225 for that old gal in a heart beat. Guns like that have character. As long as they check out OK you have a great shooter. Good luck with it.
