Anyone else watching this? A lot of the History channel stuff turns me off, but this is a good show. I haven't seen anything that seemed scripted. Very interesting to watch the knifemaking techniques. I like the judges they have, each seems knowledgeable in his field. I did wonder about testing a hollow-ground blade by chopping a log. You don't put a hollow grind on a chopper.

While being in the hospital is not the best place to be I did get to watch a LOT of TV. There also seems to be nothing on TV at night except the History Channel. I watched Forged in Fire for a week each night. They built some amazing knives/edged weapons.

I have enjoyed a couple of episodes. Would enjoy it more without the same as ,amy of the other reality shows, contest type format.

They need to let them practice their craft, instead of rushing them. How can you take a traditional craft, set it to a stop watch, and expect quality results. Makes the contestants look bad, IMHO. Still it was pretty neat to see them start with a huge ball bearing and make a knife.

There was a much better sword making show on Smithsonian channel. They were duplicating a steel formula, making a sword with a forged in inlayed letters on the blade. It was much more technical. They even sent a sample of the ancient formula to a lab to be tested.

I've watched every episode and enjoyed them all. It is AMAZING what someone can make in three hours, starting with virtually nothing. I don't think I could start with a semi-finished blank and end up with a workable knife in three hours.

Tonight's the season finale. Looking forward to it.

Have three friends on that show all from falling hammer forge in CT. All three won Matt first than Peter and last but not least Jamie how coined the phrase "woogity".

I love it - the best show on The History Channel by far. It makes me laugh every time that Marcaida guy says "It will keeeel."

What impresses me is that the contestants all treat each other with utmost respect. There's no trash talk or anything negative.

Add to that, they've all been the most gracious winners and losers (they're all skilled, no real losers, I've seen) I've ever seen on any of these contest shows. They don't make the cut, there are no tantrums or unsportsmanlike conduct. They win, there's no "in your face, Loser!"

I think that this type of behavior only amplifies their craftsmanship.

I like cooking shows, but don't like how the contestants can sometimes act toward one another and when they lose...and I can't stomach "Cutthroat Kitchen", even if Alton Brown is a gun guy...
