What capacity magazine do you prefer for practice
I load ALL of mine to seven, because I have both 7 & 8 round versions.

No matter what several "experts" say, if you practice enough to become
proficient, you subconsciously count the number of rounds fired. If you
practice with a consistent number in the magazine, you know when to
reload, without having to go to slide lock. 8)

Only seven for me. I just can't stand the way the extended mags look, and don't trust the flush fitting eight round mags. Plus I agree with what Pat says, Ed

It doesn't matter to me. Depending on what I am doing I may fully load the magazine or not. I voted other.

I figure that Mr Browning was a much smarter gun designer than I am.
I also figure that is 1911 wasn't designed nilly-willy, so I have to also figure that it weren't by accident that the 1911 mag ended-up holding 7 rounds.

You can take it from there.

I have 2 Ruger 7 round and 2 Ruger 8 round mags. I load them accordingly. So I voted "other".
