Story time. Years ago, my father in law lost the base pin latch nut. It fell off and was lost. I think this was in the 90's, maybe before. It was replaced by the hex nut you see in the picture. That didn't work to retain the base pin, which subsequently fell out and was lost too. It was noticed before the next firing, fortunately, and the gun sat without use for 30+ years. He recently gave it to us to take care of. I think he understood that I'm the kind of person that fixes things. So I got a new base pin latch assembly (well, used actually, but the part hasn't changed for old model, new model, blackhawk, etc., as far as I know). The base pin, on the other hand, has changed and is no longer made, because Ruger wants everyone to convert to the safer configuration, which uses a different base pin. So if anyone has access to an unconverted base pin it would be appreciated.
