I'd love to see more pics of the gun. That jeweled hammer isn't factory. But some folks like them.
 
all I know about my 44 is that the serial number 14673 dates to 1959 if I looked it up right on the Ruger site. It has had an action job done to it and has one of the smoothest lightest triggers of all my guns including old S&W. The jeweled hammer was a standard part of an action job in those days from what I can find out. The thought being that the jeweling causes less friction points and holds more lube. I like the way it looks. As you can see the gun is like new with almost no handling marks or turn line. Got it from Simpson's in Galesburg Ill. Got them way down on price because of the jeweling and trigger shoe. Got it as a shooter not a collector and am very happy with it. Hear Marty Robbins singing Big Iron in the background when I shoot it! Glad you enjoyed the pic. Best part is it is not converted :D
