First time at range with my SR9c.

Hey all,

Today was my first trip to the range with my SR9c I just picked up. Shot great and felt great. About 150 rounds, zero malfunctions! The only thing was it consistently shot low. Has anyone else had their SR9c shoot low out of the box? The range I was at allows you to shoot at a minimum of 10 yards so couldn't get any closer to the target. I should also mention I was using 124g FMJ since I plan on using 124g +P JHP for defensive ammo. Could the heavier bullet just be shooting low and not necessarily be that the sights may need adjusting? Should I adjust the elevation on the sights for the heavier ammo? Appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.

Mine shoots low- at least I blame it on the gun. I've been shooting 147-gr HP and FMJ- I understand the lighter 124- 127- grains are better for SD and am ordering some this weekend. But I plan on adjusting the rear sights, once I get the lighter rounds, cause I've been shooting low for a year now, ever since I got it.

Mine shoots right on top of the front sight with monotonous regularity. Of course I switched to the XS night sights before it even had 100 rounds though it. Still as I recall the factory sights were pretty dead on. at least on mine.

Another happy SR9C owner. I don't know how everyone else does it, but I adjust my sights for the ammo I am shooting with. I like to play around with them, I also keep notes on how far I moved them.

If I recall, I did need to adjust my sights at first too.

The SR9c is my MAIN go to gun for fun and SD.

Mine shoots dead on. Often times people think the sights are off, but it is usually the shooter. Try resting the pistol and/or have someone else try it out, to see if it is the gun or the shooter before you adjust the sights.

I went back to the range yesterday and just for fun I took some 115g FMJ Federal ammo with me. I shot 100 rounds of that and it was pretty much dead on. I then shot more of the 124g FMJ and it shot low again. I did adjust the rear sight and it was fine after that. The heavier ammo wanted to shoot low.

I just picked up my 9c a week ago and have put about 200 rounds through it and it's my new favorite gun. It's absolutely dead accurate with the various ammo I've shot through it. I even did a quick fire drill with it at 14 yards and only missed the bullseye once(10 round mag). I also own a P89 and LC9 and was hoping the 9c didn't have the long trigger pulls that those two did and I wasn't disappointed. The only gun I've shot(so far)with a sweeter trigger pull was the Kimber Tactical Custom II.

The heavier ammo wanted to shoot low

That's weird because lighter bullets should shoot low and heavier bullets should cause more muzzle rise. For me, the light bullets shoot low and the heavier bullets are more POA
