When it comes to 9MM ammo I'm more of a 124 NATO-spec guy, which is purty-much a +P FMJ, and clocks over 1200 FPS out of my FN Hi-Power.....I don't think that Fiocchi offers anything close to that.

It would be IF that 1150 FPS rating that is printed on the box is accurate, but that is usually not the case when it comes to factory ratings. Of course, the only way to know for sure is to shoot it out of your particular gun across a chronograph......The point to my prior post was that 9MM Luger and 9MM NATO are loaded to distinctly different pressure levels. 124 Grn 9MM-NATO is the hotter of the two and ranks right up there with SAAMI-Spec +P loads in terms of pressure and velocity. Some guns can handle that kind of operating pressure on a constant basis, some can't....Mine can, and is so marked from the factory. So that's what I feed it.

I also prefer 124 grain, but I don't care much what the velocity is for factory "range ammo". I load my own defense ammo for the most part and can tailor to my desires.
Well why not they are owned by the Czech company that owns CCI/Speer, Federal, Remington and assorted subsidiaries.
Winchester is the only wholly US owned major ammunition company in the US, WW just bought Ammo Inc.

Winchester markets a true NATO-spec 124 FMJ 9MM round which is loaded some 10% hotter than conventional SAAMI-spec 9MM Luger (meaning non +P) ammo. Fiocchi does not.....That was my point...As to your question "Well why not"?....I dunno, you'd have to ask them. All I know is that they don't.

I hear ya, we all have our own druthers...Just speaking for myself, I use NATO-spec 124 FMJ for every use that I put a 9MM to, which occasionally includes self defense. But that's just me. I learned a long time ago that the bad guys are not always standing out in the open like dummies. Sometimes they are behind a doorway, a sofa, or in or around a vehicle....You know, stuff that can make launching hollow point ammo an iffy proposition.

FYI I carry Core-Bon 115gr +P+ in my pocket pea shooter. When it is gone it is gone, I still have a couple of boxes.
I understand about hollow point limitations. I would like to see an FMJ with a little meplat. Wouldn't have to be much, perhaps 30% to 50% of bullet diameter. Just something to inflict more of a wound channel than a round nose. Then I might consider FMJ for defense, but, as of now FMJ is limited to range work.

I can't comment on the 9mm stuff, but Fiocchi makes or has made some less popular rounds such as 455 revolver (for my old S&W) and 44 Spl (for lots of my revolvers). I hope they will still make these rounds from time to time.

Winchester is marketing what they call "high pressure service grade" fmj with a bullet shape much like you describe (hence the SG9W product code)...My problem with it is two fold; (#1) it is only available in a 115-Grn version, and (#2) Winchester's QC has gotten purty-bad over the past few years....At any rate, if you are interested, a photo of the product can be seen here:
