Many years ago I sold my 4" Stainless Security Six to my father in law.
I kept the 2 1/2" one and sold the 4" to him.
Well today I bought a new GP 100 4" SS .357 mag.
If it shoots as good as my old Security Six did I will be a happy guy.

I have a mold that throws a 170 gr PB bullet for the .357.
Does anyone here have a load they like with a bullet of that weight?
I would like to shoot 2400 at modest/medium speeds using a hard cast bullet. I know 2400 works best at magnum loading but I have used it in the .38 special with good results.
What say you???

The Hodgdon reloading manual has loads for a 180 gr jacketed bullet in the .357 so those should be conservative for a 170 gr. Of course they only list Hodgon provided powders. Check Hodgdon's web site for details.

Alliant does list a 2400 load for a 170 gr jacketed bullet so you will want to cut it back a bit for a lead bullet. Again, check the Allient web site for details.

I have both 4" Sec. Sixes and a GP100 and like both a lot but for pure .357 Magnum shooting enjoyment the GP gets the nod. I predict you will like the GP. You do expect to get the Sec. Six back from Pa-in-Law some day right?
