Single-Sixer
I got up bright and early this morning and went shooting at our local range. I took by Ruger M77 UltraLight in 257 Roberts, my Remington 721 in 30306 and my Ruger M77 RSI in 308.
The 257 Roberts is fairly new, I switched out scopes to a VX-3 and was very pleased. I sighted it in rather quckly and I was doing roughly 2 inch groups, but only if I let it cool down for a minute or two. That barrel is skinny. but, I'm happy. I was using some 117 grain reloads.
The 721 has an older TASCO World Class and it shot very well. I was able to get one 1.5 inch group, but I was shooting some Russian steel cased stuff, and I think I can do better with my reloads.
I have owned the RSI since about 1997 and it shoots very well, but only with 150 grain bullets. I had some Winchester 150 grainers and with a 3-9x32 Weaver I got to 1.5 inches, but like the 257 Roberts, I had to let it cool a little between shots. It is honestly by favorite rifle.
Next week I plan on shooting some more with the Roberts but I need to also sight in a 7x57 Interarms Mauser for my wife.
