Alrighty, I have been shooting my SR9 for about a year and have not been able to hit 100% where I have been aiming. I accredited this to its trigger. My Mark III with Volquartsen trigger kit shoots like a dream but its apples and oranges to compare the two. I was actually one of the first to have their trigger ordered but have just now got around to installing it due to being insanely busy for the past few months.

First, while I had it apart, I removed the magazine disconnect.

Second, I just installed my Ghost Rocket trigger, filining off minute amounts as I went along to get it to break and have no overtravel. Well, I noticed a few things now that I have it installed

1) the first thing I noticed was that there seems to be a very prominent 2 stage feel every time I pull the trigger.
2) While pulling the slide back to cock the handgun, I can feel an innital resistance to the slide being pulled back that I did not notice before. It seems to take more force to cock the striker now
3) The trigger pull itself feels slightly spongy and breaks just slightly prior to the moment that the trigger stop halts the trigger from moving back.
4) It is much smoother and lighter than before
5) Most of the greatyness is gone
6) No longer feels “sloppy”
7) With the Viridian laser that I have activated, it does not jump through the trigger pull and break as it had before with the stock trigger bar (indicating that the Ghost bar has eliminated a good deal of the trigger issues that has been causing me to miss many of my targets)

Now, I am not sure if I have enough of that TCT bar filed off because
A) there is NO over-travel at all, it breaks right at the moment that bar stops it
B) there is that spongyness that I can feel all through the trigger pull that gets increasingly stronger as the striker stacks and feeling most intense at the apex before the break

I am writing this to ask if anyone else has had similar experiences with their Ghost Rocket, especially when it comes to points 1,2, and 3.
I would really appreciate others responses.

I plan on taking it out and shooting it sometime this weekend, if time permits, and I will write some more on my experiences with this bar.
Thanks,
-Gunsby

That sounds like it's right on the verge of not resetting .... I'd certainly look into that. That's a very dangerous thing to have happen if you're using the gun for self defense, which I wouldn't anyway given what you've done to it.

its not a conceal carry gun but would be used for home invasion...
mostly its something just to take to the range and shoot.

so, you do not think i have enough of the TCT bar shaved off?

I think I would just make sure that I shot at least a couple hundred flawless rounds through it with the new Ghost part before trusting it to House duty.

To be honest GB, I have no idea what the issue may be, or if I'm even right. It sounds as if it's right on the verge of not resetting though. I know nothing about the mechanicals of the SR9 OR the Ghost thing.

Just going by your description.
