This morning I decided to start filling my empty brass.
Some 240gr. DeepCurl with 24gr. H110. And 200gr. GoldDot's with 10gr. HP-38.
I really like the looks of those 200gr GD. I est. the velocity to be around 1050fps. out of my 3.75" SB. If I was using a 44mag for every day carry I'd probably go with that load. Big deep HP.

Nice ! My next chore today, just got done burning a mtn of leaves, is some loading. Need to run off another batch of hunting loads for friends M1894 and mine, for deer hunting, here in the same state as you. We are going with the 240HP XTP. Cheaper, adequate for chest shots at woods ranges in Ohio. Also, Marlin bores run large, and Hornady offerings at the upper end of jacketed factory bullets for diameter. Just have had better luck finding accuracy with'em.

I like XTP's too. I have some reloaded (180,240,300).
The thing I like about Hornady is by me theirs never been a shortage of bullets. I can go into 5 different gun shops & get just about any handgun Hornady bullet I want.
I don't think I'd use those GoldDots for hunting but I wouldn't hesitate to use the DeepCurl on whitetails.

I kinda like the looks of the nickle & gold.
My comment about Hornady bullets was meant towards " they're eveywhere" (a good thing). Were as Speer & Seirra are almost obsolete in my area. As far as handgun bullets are concerned

Deep Curl and Gold Dot have the same construction in the pistol bullet line. Got that from Sierra on the phone looking for Deep Curl load data several years ago. Bullets in the Deep Curl line are better suited, owing to weight for caliber, to hunting and Gold Dot for self defense.
