Hi,

Going thru some old bookmarks, I found this website marked from some time ago. I think I may have first seen it posted here on TRF several years ago, so some of you may have seen these pictures already. They're well worth a few minutes' time, whether it's for the first time, or a return visit!

Rick,

Sure I recognize those photos and you are correct they are worth looking at again. Catching projectiles in flight must be extremely difficult. Others are just beautiful and stand on their on.

Wonder if we have a artilleryman on the RF. I would have several questions.

Thanks.

I was one....but none of those shown was even being designed when I was chasing my 105 out of an aircraft.....

I wish I could see them. I have tried 3 times and it won't fully load. I will try again later.

Hi,

The collection has 65 photos, so it may be an exercise in patience for you to get 'em, gramps! But I hope it's worth it when they do come up for you. :)

Any way to post OLD TIMEY POLAROID photos?
I got a great one of a HAWK missile right at the end of the launcher with a tail of flame/smoke behind it (taken right at the moment of ignition. I got the same thing of a Nike-Hercules right at the top of the launcher again taken at the moment of ignition, Sadly they aint "close-ups" and all I had at the time was the Polaroid camera.

I would think a decent scanner would do the trick, then attach it to a reply via photobucket, etc.

That's how I deal with my targets for postal matches & it works good for that.

Hi,

Pamela, I'm not sure if there would be any problem scanning your pictures, but if you still have a "real" camera shop in your neighborhood, you might ask if there's any problem with Polaroids. If such a thing is as scarce there as it is here, you might check with your local library. They may do some restoration/preservation work and have some ideas for you. Be sure to mention they're Polaroids there, too.

Another idea would be to use a current digital camera, set on "macro" so you can get up close and personal, take a "picture of the picture", then put the digital image up on a photo sharing service such as Photobucket as Merle suggests. From there you can post it here easily enough (though Photobucket can get grumpy when it's overloaded!)

Good luck!
