Excellent collection you have there !!! The model 116 (Caper) is going to be a challenge for ya , I too have been collecting Buck knives for a long time - over the years, it's quite addicting. And expensive hobby maybe my kids will benefit from someday , some of my favs are
model 184
model 664
model 124
model 120and
the Buck PHROBIS bayonet
I guess it's just nice to see another with the same interest.
keep gathering them up - money well spent , like everything else being made overseas ... they ain't what they used to be

Yep, the 116s are hard to come by. I believe there was also a hatchet (106 maybe?) That was made in the same style. I have only bought one of these brand new, the rest have all come from gun shows, pawn shops, and a couple from the good people here on the forum!

Dad used to have one like the one at the bottom years ago. Had a good heavy handle. Really nice. Lost it and a couple years ago i bought him one of the new ones. Seems a LOT lighter.

Yep, the newer 103s aren't nearly as heavily built as the older ones. Especially in the thickness of the blade.
