I have a 1 of 1000 New Vaquero KNV-455EC which is really nice.
I bought a 45LC/45ACP New Vaquero KNV-455X-C so I could keep wear off the nice one as well as shoot more often using cheaper 45ACP. (I shoot a 1911 often)
The action on the new convertible doesn't appear to be near as smooth as the fancy EC. The EC cylinder spins like its on oiled ball bearings, the gate opens like a dream, and the trigger feels much lighter than the X-C.
The X-C is as yet unfired, but I put a fired LC brass in it and it was tight, had to use the ejector rod to get it out. The same fired brass in the EC falls in and out. The gate on the X-C was hard to open as well....
My questions are these:
Did the EC's get a factory action job?
Should the new X-C LC cylinder and gate really be this tight?
