Just messing around today, and decided to paint my old 590 Mariner. It's a little glossy (all I had on hand), but wanted to see if I'd like the shroud in black. It does make it easier to see the bead, so that's a plus. I'll redo it in flat black later.

Whatcha think? Does it look more Assaulty Weapony?

I think you are right, flat black would be better. Maybe even buy a powdercoat kit from Eastwood.

As far as lists, I'm on all the good ones. I just had to have another background check to renew my airport badge, arghhh. I wonder if they compare the good lists to the bad and average them out?

Sorry, but I can't give an opinion as I am too scared and upset to look at it. I had some PTSD after just imagining all the empty casings whizzing past my face!! Oh! I just can't talk about it. I bought a Mossy 500 barrel with a lot of surface rust on it. I steel-wooled all the rust off, degreased it, and painted it VHT Hi Temp Engine Black from a rattlecan. The stuff has held up AMAZINGLY well, and looks great besides.

Definitely need someone to paint their AR white and ask the populace if it is an Assault Weapon. Oh, wait, there have already been some painted pink. Perhaps if flowers/rainbows/stars were painted on it too...would love to hear the comments then!
