Great photo! I see by the mesquite beans, y'all got rain this year. My tree's ain't got any beans this year.

mt: this part of the ranch caught a couple of pretty good snows in the winter. Grass is brown but I guess enough moisture for the mesquite to prosper. Most of our country has had <1" moisture since September. The wind started in Dec and has been relentless,and now with triple digit heat constantly.
 
doccash, that all sounds familiar except for the snow part. I've been feeding the deer in my vacant lot behind the house. The deer are coming out of the pastures and feeding along the barditches, a lot of road kill this year.

mt: That is familiar ,deer along the highway is a real problem here and was not prior to the dry spell. The deer and antelope are congregating in areas along the roads where trees grow [for shade]. Better slow down when you see trees[ fortunately you can drive for miles and never see a tree] Dr.C :)
