and they are consecutive serial numbers to boot, some "pretty" ones are still out there..

Are these the engraved pair that Ruger offered in their catalog, or is this a separate special order pair?

apparently so, one of approx. 178 "sets" they did, and we saw the purchase order, billing etc gotten directly from Ruger as well as the invoices for the case and grips..........

Thanks Dan.
Never did figure out why such a huge price difference in a pair of these from year one to year two. For year one they only had black plastic grips. Year two they had simulated ivory, were only offered as consecutive pairs, had "1 of 1000" engraving on the butt and they also had a presentation case. But the MSRP for a consecutive pair also went from $1,950 to $3,863!
Its no wonder they only sold 178.

There is NO "1 or (one) of One Thousand " on the bottom or anywhere on the gun, and in front of the grip frame out on the flat (where the "S" is sometimes stampedon Rugers over the years) is the name "Rob or Bob Hunting", in very small stamping , I mean real small, on both guns..........saw somewhere on the paperwork they only made 178 'sets', and they have two sets of grips, the black plastic, as well as the white faux ivory...........
