I purchased this book on Sept 22, 1971 from Elmer at his home in Salmon, Idaho. He signed it for me, I know these books are extremely rare but don't know the true value of them. Mine got water damaged pretty bad & I need to know what they are worth. I'm sure an autographed copy is even more rare. If you have any idea what the value might be it would help a lot, thanks.

A few years ago a nice signed copy was about $400 but prices dropped and now are closer to $300. That would be undamaged.

EK was not stingy with his signature. I bet an unsigned copy of that particular book is rarer than the signed ones.

I think WMG has it right on the price. This would be for one in very good condition with dust jacket. As with any collectable, condition is everything and a water damaged copy IMO would be worth somewhat less than a third of VG price.

Keith tried to keep a stock of his books at home and sold them there, thru the mail and at gun shows. Most of these were signed. The first (only) printing had several errors that EK hand corrected in ink on some of the books he sold. Collectors tend to value these hand corrected copies a little more, somewhat like a remarked print. Page 136 would have an example of one of his corrections.

Dennis.
