A large target dealer in Wisconsin (Recob) has a large shipment of different grades of Eley 22 lr ammo. My son picked up a brick of Eley Sport. The boxes are marked made in Mexico. Still has the Eley UK address on each box. I checked their web site and found nothing mentioning Mexico. Anyone know when this started or who makes it?

IT IS MADE IN THE OLD R-P plant in Mexico. The only thing really " ELEY " about it is the priming compound. Been this way for years with tons of it being imported and shot up. The ELEY SPORT is standard velocity 22LR ammunition and short strokes some 22 autoloading pistols. My wife has shot up cases of it in her 22 S&W revolvers.

I shot a bunch of Mexican Eley stuff a couple years back. I think it was in purple boxes if I remember correctly. It was real dirty and wouldn't consistently cycle in my MKII but the notes say the S&W 17-3 shot it well.

I found the Eley Sport to smell funny when fired. My 780 Marlin wasn't impressed with it.
