Wife and I went out on a hike today. Beautiful Easter day - and before you guys give me a ration - YES WE WENT TO EASTER SERVICE LAST NIGHT. :D

Well, we started out with lunch at my favorite restaurant up on the mountain at Monteagle. Fantastic Southern style buffet in a great setting that includes an old general store, local country music museum, and local moonshine display. My absolute favorite hands down.

Then after stuffing ourselves there we went north up the mountain to hike at South Cumberland State Park. Pics will follow, but here is the link.

First stop was the Greeter Falls trail.. My favorite type of terrain - rocks, hemlocks, rhododendron, and mountain laurel.

Then on to the Great Stone Door overlooking Savage Gulf - the source of the Collins River (coincidentally another great TN musky river) 8)

Then a quick jaunt down the hill to Laurel Creek Falls. The gal in the pic is my hiking partner for the past 37 years, and she can still walk me into the ground. :D All in All just a wonderful day to be enjoying Gods Wonderful Creation!! 8) 8) 8)

Fantastic! Waiting for a bit less snow on the trails so we can begin our year's plans in the Mts

It's getting there not quite ready yet. Most of the snow has gone but you get into the woods there is still plenty especially in the Mts. The hard core riders are still doing some snowmobiling!ps

Gotta get off my lazy old butt and drive down and check out some of these awesome places. Thanks again for posting the beautiful pictures.

Tom let me know when you want to come and maybe we can do some hiking/fishing/shooting. 8)

You need to Photoshop a pig into the picture with your wife.
Something subtle in the background that might be missed at
first glance and print it for her.
