RUGTim, hate to tell you, but it's not real special. I have one from about that time frame and, IIRC, is close to your serial number. Mine is also a DC model in stainless.
The only real problem you might have is magazines. Some time after we bought ours, Ruger changed the mag releases and the shape of the hole for the mag release in the P89 frames. From what I have read, you have a 90% chance that a newer P89 mag will work in your individual gun. If it doesn't work, Ruger still makes the older P85/P89 mags, I think. I lucked out in that my P89 works with every newer P89 mag I have ever bought without any trouble at all.
Other than that, the only problem you'll have is trying to wear it out! The metal framed P-series guns are TANKS! Over-engineered and over-built, I don't think it is possible to wear them out with normal use. Not the prettiest guns ever built, but it will outlast you, probably your kids and maybe their kids!
