Has anyone ever determined how many Ruger non prefix model 77’s were made? I know the Ruger Serial Number look up page gives 1912 for 1968 and then prefixes appear sometime in 1969. Have specific numbers been discussed here or maybe RENE?
I have serial number 175 and curious to see how many non prefixed M77 are out there.
Thanks Kenny

You’re probably right that RENE would have it. …. At least a close guess / estimate.

Thanks Chet! As far as you know were there any number skips? So, 3189 is a pretty good estimate?
Thanks Kenny
No skips as far as I know. Ruger has never done that intentionally... too much hassle with the process of numbering and keeping the books straight.

I think they might have skipped some numbers with the 44 Carbine
Yeah, at least 8130 to 49999. I've often thought that maybe Ruger made a change on the receiver at this time, maybe investment cast receiver to machined receiver or some similar major change? Change in internal parts maybe?
