I cannot offer much of an opinion on the barrel quality. I suspect tis as good a shot as any ots. I tend to just remove the factory barrels as a matter of habit and stack the takeoffs up in a pile. Just my own opinion/way.
Somewhat dependent on your idea of accuracy, the 300 Winchester Magnum is somewhat noted for fair accuracy on its own. I suspect that a big game animal shot with a 2" rifle versus a 1/4" rifle will not know the difference out a ways.
Buyers buy these no.1's a lot on eye appeal rather than practicality. Being straight grained wood is an asset to keeping things on the up and up, kinda one of those warpage things that are more likely with figured wood etc.
With that said, the straight, plain wood does it little good in basic buyer value. Probably would be a fine hunter as is, or in my eyes, more better with an aftermarket barrel in place, just my opinion.
Value varies around the country. In my area, if you got more than 700 in it; you better hope to keep it a while as you probably might not be able to recoup that on a sale. I try to buy in the 400-600 dollar class; if I can, I will, if not; I will wait for the next one. I do not resale any of my buys, not made of money anymore with the consideration of 700+ for such a rifle.
Prices(asking anyway) have gone up some with Ruger's limited production of No.1's, not all sell at those numbers, just take a looksee at the big auction sites to get a general idea. Note I said general idea, your local area may be those numbers or they could be lower as in my area.
300 WinMag is a nice cartridge, fine power if you need it, but can do 06 numbers reloaded. The 1s is an handsome rifle.
