Any idea if Ruger was still using Douglas barrels in 1975.

I considering a Ruger M77 from 1975 in 7mm Rem mag and though I love and own four early M77's I really don't need another one.

BUT, I've been thinking about a longer range caliber for antelope/deer and would go with this Ruger if it had a Dougles barrel.

Thank you and best regards Lj

Ruger began the phase in of Wilson barrels in 1973. There was some overlap, but most likely the 7mm and .30 cal Douglas barrels were used up by 1975.

I have a Liberty 7Mag and it shoots MOA with a Wilson barrel.

Thanks Gentlemen,

I dearly love the early Rugers and this one is beautiful.

MOA or close to it, is all I want.

I've got an 1975 M77ST 23.5" medium contour barrel in 257 Roberts that is Sub MOA and I do not know who the barrel maker is and the 7MM is from the same year and looks almost identical.

So, I'm probably gonna get it.

Best Regards Lj
