Does this have value?

Like a mis-printed postage stamp? Some time back, I sent money to Ruger for a "letter" to determine original ship dates of 3 revolvers I purchased second-hand. One was a Blackhawk .45LC, one a SBH .44 mag, the third my Super Redhawk, .480 Ruger. Got the letters today, and they also included a RUGER patch and a manual for each revolver. On my .480, however, they said "Thank you for the inquiry regarding your Super BLACKHAWK serial number 551- 89XXX. Our records indicate this Super Blackhawk was shipped in May 2001 as a model KSRH-7480, caliber .480 Ruger."

Of course, the revolver in question is a Super Redhawk!! I am assuming if it were really a .480 Super Blackhawk, it would be rather valuable, but wonder if the letter is of any worth in itself?

All kidding aside, I appreciate the information, and will keep the .480 letetr in a special place of honor!

Did they get the serial # correct for your gun?

Jim, yes, the serial number was correct, and the year shipped seems where it should be, they just forgot what color hawk it was when typing it up - probably because my other 2 were black ones! No big deal, and gives me a "funny story" to go with the gun. Just sort of wondered if this was a common type of mistake?

I believe I would place a call and ask if there was also a Super Redhawk with that serial number OR if someone made a mistake? Then you could explain why you asked the question.
