Does the MKIV Competiton Slab Side model 40112 come with

A picatinny rail and rings as did the MKII models only those had a base that took
Ruger design rings instead of Weaver/Picatinny design or failing that, are they
factory drilled and tapped for such a base, from the factory website I cannot
tell either way, thanks.

All of the MkIVs are factory drilled and tapped for a Weaver or Picatinny rail but one is not included with the gun. ShopRuger offers both types of rail and there are several aftermarket suppliers also like TandemKross, Volquartsen, etc.

Thank you 22/45Fan, I wonder does the spacing for the mounting holes line up
with the older design that used Ruger rings instead of the Weaver/Picatinny?
That would significantly improve things for me since I am no fan of the latter
and have access to several of the older MKII era bases and screws.

I don't recall any Mk II pistols that had the Ruger proprietary bases machined into the receiver and took Ruger's equally proprietary rings such as used on M77 rifles and some Super Redhawks.

Late model MkII and all MkIII guns were drilled and tapped for an included Weaver rail and came with four #4-48 mounting bolts. MkIVs use the same drill and tap pattern but don't include the rail, with the gun.

I may have inadvertently gave the wrong impression, the early MKII bases were
not machined into the receiver but were attached much like the MKIIs with
screws, I will attempt to post a picture to illustrate the method. The bases took
two of Ruger's proprietary rings of whatever height you needed so that your
choice of optic could clear the rear sight. My MKII Model KMK678GC is dated
from 2000 according to Ruger. As I'm having no luck posting a picture, I'll
attempt to describe the base, its small, blue in color and machined to accept
the Ruger designed rings, I hope that clears up any confusion. I can email
you a picture of the design if desired. I just was curious as I said about if
the hole spacing for the two types of bases were the same which would
allow the use of either. I can't seem to get the date on mine correct but
I do think its good to go now, here is the link to serial number by beginning
number in a given year, its curious that you had a 22/45 made with the
other sort of rail from mine when they date from one another seemingly
out of order, perhaps the 22/45 models differ from the usual MKIIs of
that era.

FINALLY!!!!! This is not a picture of the base actually mounted on a MKII
but it IS what the base looks like and you can extrapolate from this what
it would look like mounted atop the receiver. You can see that its clearly
an OEM Ruger part and is marked as such.

That is new to me. I had a 5-1/2" bull barrel 22/45 MkII bought in mid-2001 that was factory drilled and tapped in the current configuration and came with the factory Weaver rail. It would accept any make Weaver-compatible rings.

AFAIK, that base only came with the Competition Target Models but could be purchased from Ruger. I believe that all Ruger Marks are drilled in the same pattern except some of the early KMK678GCs which had a two hole base. The MKIIIs came with a Weaver style base. Sounds like you get nothing with the MKIVs.

No. Came with three mounting SCREWS.

EDIT: And they are NOT the size you posted.

A friend here suggested the obvious simple approach to learning the answer to were the
screw holes and their spacing, identical between the two different bases and the answer
is yes they are so I'm good to go even with a MKIV, I can still use the older base thanks
to some I purchased from SGW Gunsmith.
