Does anyone happen to have a copy of this advertisement. I would love to get either a scanned copy or even a good clean photo that you could text to me. This copy is very from a very low resolution picture of a picture, and when I blow it up it gets grainy and too blurry to read.

Now days we have them in zoos and are trying to breed them. I see nothing to be proud of there. That's kind of like shooting a giraffe. A big 18 foot tall target that stands there out in the open.

if you want to buy and scan

This was great info---I even grabbed a couple more while I was there. Thanks a bunch for sharing the links.

No disrespect since we are each still entitled to our own opinions, but did you happen to see it clear enough to read the yellow part at the top? Things were obviously much different in the world 57 years ago. Hopefully it is still on display somewhere. There is another old advertisement for the 44 carbine out there that is very similar. I think it even has Bill himself with a warthog. If anyone has that one, I would love to see it also.

Yes I did read the yellow part. I know things were different back then. That's why I said "Now days".

Forget the ad. I want $500 and a time machine. I could retire a rich man.

I have a small stash of old magazines from the sixties, interesting reading, from Elmer Keith, Col. Townsend Whelen and Jeff Cooper. I wasn't able to find the gorilla ad, but did find the wart hog ad. It was on the inside cover of the Nov 1961 Guns & Ammo magazine. It was torn loose from the rest of the magazine and not in the greatest shape. AJGUNNER, if you would like it I can send it to you. Also found some other old Ruger ads, thought I would share a few of them.
