I bought a top off the line sony vhs with flying erase head for $500 at silo in silverdale early 90's, made awesome recordings!

somewheres in the mid 90's I recorded the navy-army game.. bunch of seabees and soldiers rallied at my place after work on a big project at jftb los al.. we all abstained from hearing the score or the winner so it would be more exciting

approaching the end of the fourth quarter, the recording stopped before the game did.. I programmed it by the code and apparently didn't allow enough time

needless to say, I narrowly survived that evening.. thankfully had plenty of booze to take everyone's mind off of it

My refrigerator has TWO ice makers. And I agree, the fridge is the most common fail and the most expensive to buy if you want options. My last two were $2700 and $3200. I had four kids living at home and needed 27+ cubic feet. Can't get that with a basic unit generally. The former lasted seven years. I replaced the water inlet solenoid on it twice myself and rebuilt its ice maker once. Then the compressor died making it useless to fix as one was not available (during CV19 supply problems) and one can't wait a couple weeks or months to fix a fridge. So we bought a new one and just out of warranty, the lower ice maker broke. Luckily the second generation owner of the furniture and appliance store on the square downtown is a friend. He sold me the fridge (and recently a washing machine plus previously a couch) at a discount due to a dent no one could see on the roof of the machine and sold me the replacement ice maker for cost.

I was going to give condolences as I thought his wife died? But then I see you are talking about appliances. Does this include Furnaces and whole house A/C's?
