Looking for some advice/opinions. I have a Ruger No.1 in 450/400 3" N.E., one of the few with the "D" contour barrel. I am getting ready to sell it since I have no use (never did) for it. My dilemma is that I have about 60 rounds of handloaded ammo for it. These are all mild loads, I was only using it for target shooting, a long story about that.
I am concerned about selling it with the handloads. Most people, me included, don't trust other people's handloads unless they know and trust that person. My choices are: 1. shoot up the ammo, I hate to waste all those good expensive bullets 2. Sell the rifle with the loaded ammo, 3. Sell the rifle without the ammo and just throw the ammo away.
I would then sell the dies, brass and bullets either to the buyer of the rifle or separately.
I thought about just using my inertia puller and pulling the bullets and saving the bullets and powder. It turns out they are too long for the inertia puller. The bullet bottoms out in the puller before it can come out of the case. I don't have a collet puller and don't want to buy one just for this.
