Different 10/22 thread pattern?

Hey all,
Got a 10/22 model 01263. It has a threaded stainless barrel, which I assumed would be in 1/2x28, but it's not. Any idea what it is and why Ruger would do that? Seems like everything is in 1/2x28. Thanks!

Is that a Davidson's Exclusive?

No idea what the thread size is, but you might try calling Davidsons and find out from them.

I bought a take-off 10-22 SS threaded barrel and it's 1/2x28 for sure. Only problem is the threads are longer than the internal threads of our 22LR can so there's about 1/4" of thread after the can bottoms out.

I did get them from Davidsons. Called Ruger today. They said that the rifles I got have the wrong barrel on them. They SHOULD be 1/2x28, but mine have the barrel made for export, which is 1/2x24. Now I have to send the rifles to Ruger and they are going to swap them out. :roll:

Im not sure of the model number but years back , before the takedowns and before Ruger regularly threading 10/22 barrels , there was a model made for sale in Europe. It was the first or one of the first to be factory threaded and was a 1/2-20 if I remember correctly. The overruns were sold off here in the US. The one I had was stainless in a stsndard birch stock.

I had one when they first came out and there were adapters available to get you to a 1/2-28 thread. If you dont have a guage for thread pitch , bring home a 1/2-20 nut from the hardware store next time you are out and that will tell you for sure.

Did you buy the gun new? If used it may have been threaded by someone other than factory.

Thread count is 'threads per inch'; to figure out any thread, count the threads in a 1/4" of length and multiply by 4.

Rugerjunkie, That would be a Model 1124 and I also had a 1263 with the coarser threads,
