Hello All,
New here, first post. I just picked up a 1962 Deerstalker 44 Magnum carbine. It is marked Deerstalker and is in really good condition.
I bought this because I thought a small handy 44 carbine would be just the ticket for home defense and plain old fun.
Problem, I did not know any thing about these guns, and did not know what to look for or test at the shop when I was looking at it. When I got it home, I was trying to figure out how to lock the bolt open and could not make it happen. I read somewhere else online that it should automatically lock back in the open position when pulled all the way back. Mine does not.
So, I am hoping you guys might know what is possibly wrong with mine and could give me some direction to start with?
