One of my local shop got a .44 Special Flatop (lipsey) Blackhawk that was an order for another guy but he changed his mind since he wants the 5.5 inch barrel (this is the 4 5/8"). I really like the gun, but the baby in the house makes my gun budget, well, non existance. I don't know if I want to see my 50th Anniversary Blackhawk .44 Magnum for it or not, because that gun is pretty nice to carry and shoot, and accuracy is very good. I have flipped the same coin now about 50 times trying to decided and have about worn my thumbnail off.

How much are we talking, the mid to upper $400 range? As a reloader I'd say the 44 spcl would do fine. There are also plenty of 4 5/8" 45 Colts out there. If you worked your way to 'super Dad' & husband status you may be eligible for a prize. I once bought a gun right at the birth of a Son(he came early). I said 'Son this is your handgun someday'. I didn't forget it & now that he is a little older he calls it 'his pistol'(Browning Buckmark 22). I do realize the family finances come 1st. It also pains me to see all the dribble bought that is discarded a year down the road, unlike that gun your eyeballing.

I occasionally sell a firearm,I never trade one to a dealer. Nothing against a dealer, they gotta make a living but not at my expense. I never trade vehicles either. I just hate to give away 30-40% of the value of something.

I think most of us here can relate to wanting another "toy" and not having the funds. Then we beging thinking of selling one to buy another. Later,, we realize we suffer from "seller remorse." Keep the 50th,, and scrape up the $$ for the Spl by being creative about saving. We can always make a little more money,, or give up something we really don't need, (smokes, sodas, candy, 6-pack, etc,) to get another gun. But once we get seller remorse,, it's always haunting us.
How many times have we heard someone say; "I used to own XX & traded/sold it. I wish I had it back."
