One of my favorite spots...here are a few photos from our trip there yesterday.

And me without my M77 .22-250...

I think that songdog said his name was Wile E.

Just before we saw Wile, this this guy came smoking by...

A brief pause, a quick "beep beep," and he was gone...

More good stuff...

Hi,

Very nice, Joe, and it looks like you had perfect winter weather for a trip to Death Valley! Only time I've been there, we got snowed out! That's when we learned how the place got its name, too...

Wile E looks well fed and healthy--and the road runner looks pretty calm. Guess you didn't see anything w/ "Acme" on the label, did you?

I love Death Valley. Been there twice for work, so naturally we go in the summer! I find the place strangely beautiful and i think your pictures did a good job capturing that. Also, there's nothing quite like a 130 degree breeze!

All of our SW deserts are beautiful places to visit, what was the temp. there yesterday?

I used to buy motorcycle tires and other bits from a guy in the Bay Area (John Accinelli), and he told me he used to go down there every January.

He and his pals would ride their motorcycles from the SF Bay Area to Death Valley in 4 hours. (!)

awesome pics. thanks for sharing

my wife and i went there a few years back. left early the friday after thanksgiving, from the bay area, went over tioga ? pass ( through yosemite) it was still open that year. then strait down 395. took about 4-5 hours. stayed in Lone Pine. Whitney was closed but Alabama hills were fun. Did scotty's castle tour. i'd like togo back and spend a few days there. lone pine has a great western movies theater museum. they filmed all kinds of movies and TV shows in the Alabama hills
