The wife brought this up and I did some searching and she is right. All these idiots that have committed these various heinous crimes all had 'dead eyes'. Roof and the Boston massacre boy are two that jump right out. All the gun laws in the world can never stop the 'crazies' and you cannot legislate sanity.

yeah and "What if" these little nightmares are being programmed, drugged and turned loose. One thing that got me in a statement his room mate and friend said, "he did not use the N word, he just talked about how blacks were ruining America" and then a quote from the church witnesses, "he talked about how blacks were raping white women and ruining America" once again no N word or other slurs.

I am a son of the south, my family fought for the South in the civil war, I grew up down south and I have known a bunch of real racist white folks in my life, I never heard tell of any young white boy being a hard ball racist little skinhead who did not use the N word every sentence.

Just one of those things that make you go "hmmmmm?"
Add that to how he and the Aurora Colorado theatre shooter behaved during their easy arrest.

Somebody is tweaking these kids and turning them loose to cause mayhem to drive agendas of martial law, and it will continue with each one getting progressively worse. Yet with all this angst, not one of these crackers has hit a government office or personnel, just makes me wonder, "why"

Don,it does make me wonder along those lines too. Hard to tell w/o a perp actually admitting or alluding to something but IMO society has been sliding toward an abyss for decades.

Hi,

One of my "koffee klatch" buddies is a security guard, who gets posted in some less than desirable neighborhoods just often enough to keep him on his toes. And every time one of these characters makes the news, first thing he says is "Look at their eyes."

Frank, after a couple of years of following his advice, I think your wife is spot on...

Think about this folks. When you were small and had a bad attitude your mom could cure that in a matter of minutes with multiple tools of her choice (belt, switch etc). But mom does not have that right anymore. Now they use DRUGS.

What strikes me, is he targeted a church. What a cowardly thing to do. He didn't go after the gang bangers, or drug dealers. If it were me, and I was going to ruin my life for a cause, I'd be looking for a high impact target, the worst of the worse. Not a church. It just doesn't make sense to me, it really makes me question his true agenda.

The next time somebody attacks a church, or other soft target, somebody needs to stand up and meet force with force. Then the head lines will be different. Church has always been the place I feel less than safe.

A lot of serious thought provoking comments in this thread.
On another note, to add to it a bit. Think about hypnosis. Hypnosis, as well as drugs, can create a "monster" that can be exploited by those who wish to control.
All this happened during the trial of the theater shooter in Co. Just after we've witnessed such stuff as Ferguson, & other places.
Planned? Maybe.
Choreographed? Maybe.

Oh, as for a "church shooting" and force being met with force,,, y'all recall the fine young lady who was carrying & stopped a church shooting? It got some media coverage, but nowhere near as much as this one.
The one thing that can not be fully factored in any scenario where a bad guy who wants to do horrible stuff is the possibility of an armed person stopping them. It can be mitigated a lot by picking soft targets, but not completely, EXCEPT in places that have restricted the citizens rights so severely to where the BG feels he can do a lot of damage before getting caught or stopped.

Dead eyes? Yes, as well as other things. Drugs are surely playing a role more & more.

As a Father who has experienced the dead eye symtoms of a child that was on drugs makes me believe you're assumptions are spot on. Our family has went been torn apart from drug use, stealing from family to get the fix and so on. It also started with Doctors just handing out pain meds without a damn care of what it's doing to them. It's a new country out there guys when the people are fed these drugs by Doctors and pharmicies sponsored by Fed and State government. I can keep rolling with this but would need to have a few hours of writing. What I have learned is the problem is now at all levels of our society. Rich and poor alike suffer these issues daily, though I think the lower or no income group is the main targets.

Drug Screening: most of us state as I have say we would like to see mandatory drug screening for people that receive government assistance. Well lately I've learned just how easy it is to beat all the testing. There now is an entire industry selling products to beat every drug test. Being totally unaware of this part of our society it came as a surprise to me.

I have since posted my property and home with NO TRESSPASSING signs so certain individuals are on notice. That's something I thought I would never have to do. They now have been give a choice of which path to choose.

The part I don't get is the father giving this kid a .45 for his birthday. No training, no instruction..... just give a kid, who exhibits major developmental issues (19, no job, no drivers license, socially introverted, etc) a big gun. Mom took it away, but "dead-eyes" took it back. He was given the .45 for his birthday in April. He was arrested in the prior two months. Before my kids handled a firearm, they got a goodly dose of training. I question Daddy's intelligence...

I've seen the "dead eyes" before. They become void of any emotion...like unplugging sanity. The ensuing violence is usually pretty vicious.

The eyes are the "windows" to the soul....now when you see Hillary making a speech or talking to a person and the camera focuses in on her eyes...she constantly flits from looking at the person/crowd to the floor and back..she can't hold eye contact..not so apparent in a crowd where she can look around and never lock onto anyone's eyes...but in the interviews, etc her eyes are constantly looking downward...I don't trust a person that can't look me in the eye...not a dead fish stare but just make eye contact..

The insane murderers that we've witnessed have that blank stare that may or may not be due to drugs but they also keep looking down and away from any direct confrontation...

His father gave him money.
He bought the gun legally with a form 4473 filled out.

Everything I read said Daddy gave him the gun for his birthday. I am guessing they have since updated the information.

The Doc in the Pain Clinic seemed surprised when I told him that I preferred to NOT take drugs for the pain in my back from the pinched Sciatic Nerve in my back. The ONLY reason I would take one was when the pain got so bad, I couldn't sleep. He did prescribe Gabapentine for up to three doses a day (AT most I may take two) and then the Oxy for when the pain would not let me sleep; That was At the end of April, it was a 30 pill prescription of Oxy and I Still have over half of it left Probably Will STILL have left overs when I go for my surgery at the end of this month.

From what I understand the young man had a normal upbringing until he got on his own and then he gravitated to white supremacist ideology and websites where his outlook on society changed to a violent hatred of blacks. He made the conscious effort to be an outstanding leader in this new hatred endeavor. That is neither mentally ill or evil, it is a guided effort to promote a wrong way of thinking. He made himself a sacrificial protestor for his cause. He was a warrior in his mind. We see many young people with unorthodox beliefs because of the many hate websites including ISIS and white supremacist sites on the internet. The easy access to weapons in this country doesn't help anything.

I don't doubt that evil and insanity both are more prevalent in our society than most think the case, but I don't place much merit in the "dead eyes" thing. Photos can show people with different expressions and while a blank look may well indicate drug effects, it could be any number of things, including just the normal look of that particular person. And so-called "warm eyes" that make you feel the person is caring and trustworthy may be no more than a con man's act (a con man will not likely be very successful unless he can totally convince you of his sincerity and honesty, and good ones fool the innocent and trusting every day).

I find I am not as judgmental about parents since living through my own family situation. Having four children grow up in a loving, secure and supportive family environment and going on to be productive and responsible citizens (now with children of their own) did not prepare me for child number five. He grew up in the same loving environment with even more attention and care than our other kids because he was the last one still at home. Yet he got into some minor problems at about 15 and became a school dropout. Alternative schooling and counseling, medical and other interventions didn't make a big difference since he felt he knew better than anyone else, including his parents. He's a good kid at heart but has made some seriously poor judgements. So now at 21 he has two relatively minor felonies that be pled guilty (no jail time), on probation for another several months and now realizing that he is in a world of hurt. Despite going back to school and getting a welder's certificate and GED, the two felonies are keeping him from getting any meaningful employment and his only work has been hit and miss landscaping jobs. We are trying to help him move forward in his life but he is facing real hurdles that might well plague him forever, although we are a bit hopeful that we can get his record expunged if he stays sober and clean and out of trouble for a few years.

Its all well and good to think you can practice tough love and throw out your own child into the street but until you actually face this type situation you really don't know how you will handle it. My wife and I as his parents have tried our very best, and don't really know why his brothers and sisters have turned out so well but that he hasn't, at least not yet. The world may see him as just another loser young man, minimally employed, a school dropout, with a criminal record and might blame his parents for not raising him right. But until you walk a mile in my shoes don't be too quick to criticize. Maybe the one good thing about this is that it has made me far less self righteous about other people and whose fault it is when we read about or see some evil perpetrator in the news.

Contemplating more "reasonable gun laws", eh, EGO?
Wolfsong you are confused. I am very pro-gun, ownership, use and laws. Please consider that anti-gun people, regardless of political party, are probably the enemies of gun owners not me. :D

That's like me saying I'm pro-life, except that I support Kermit Gosnell for public office.
TitanX you and Wolfsong and a few others can keep harping at me in the lounge if you want to but the simple fact is you don't have to be a republican to be pro-gun or a republican to be a member of this forum. There are many non-republicans that are pro-gun and members of this forum. Why don't you try and get over your prejudice in regards to political parties and gun ownership. Pro-gun people, that don't cause problems, especially those that like Rugers are welcome here. ...at least they used to be. :D

If you are so pro-gun why do you keep defending anti-gun candidates ?

Please ACCEPT that people who vote for and support anti-gun politicians ARE EGOs, such as yourself.
