Custom Grips

Where is a good place to buy custom grips for a Ruger single six or Ruger Bisley?
Does the factory sale the black laminated ones like on the hunter models or will sale you only what came on the gun originally and you have to provide the serial numbers>Also why is stag grip so expensive?
Stag horn been around since the dawn of time right....

Real Sambar stag is expensive because India banned the export of antlers about ten years ago. Rather than collecting shed antlers, poachers were shooting live bulls to get their antlers. Elk antler is readily available and turns out some nice grips but Sambar stag is a vastly superior grip material due to its greater density and more attractive bark.

One of the big things about stag grips is making them is fairly labor intensive. More so than wood grips.

I think Elk grips can be cut very poorly, but that Elk is not actually inferior to Sambar. I've been thinking about this for years, and have tried to address that with some insight on my revised web sight.
