The only real custom Ruger single shot that I have is 222 on a #3 action that was started by JK Cloward and finished up by me. But all I had to do was supply a few missing parts and finish the wood.

I have done some reversible configuration changes on later prefixed guns. An AB in 223 became an AH, and my 1B 280 is now a "BH" with custom LH wood. Also have a #3 375 Win with aftermarket wood with mannlicher fore-end. The original #3 stocks are hard on my eyes.

Simple rebores -- .3000. H&H, .338 Federal. and 338-o6. All 1Bs.
Full custom;- new barrels, wood etc -- 6.5 Swede and 7mmBR #3 type, 6.8 SpC II carbine 1A type; .41 caliber 1S and 35 Whelen #1S type and 9.3x62 1B type.

I haven’t bought or built it, but found it online from a listing of custom gun makers posted on one of the forums. At first I gagged then the more I returned to it I began thinking about the utility of it’s design for a pickup gun, perhaps chambered in one of the pistol calibers like the 460 or 475 Linebaugh, or maybe even the 500 S&W Mag? I would have a very difficult time holding a perfectly good #1 in my hands and starting a project like this, but isn’t this what makes gun the world interesting?

The 454 is already covered, since they did a run of 460 S&W.

The 454 Casull will fire in a 460 S&W chamber but not the other way around, just like the 38 Special/357 Magnum.

Are you sure about the 45 Auto Rim? My understanding is that this a 45 Auto with a rim for use in the old Colt, etc. revolvers so they didn't have to use half moon clips.

Have you seen some of the cast bullets they're making for the 500? Dang. Hope there's not a barn behind whatever you're shootin at! Might knock it down!

Wouldn't that extra thick rim (45 AR) cause headspace issues? Like the lever not closing?

Have you tried this in a No. One or jsut in a hangun? I too, would guess that the lever would not close on rim that was .022 over headspace specs for the 460 S&W.

What definition of "CUSTOM"?? Most of my "Custonizing" is about getting cartridges I'd like to try or making one shoot really well. Only a few are about "pretty" and custom wood. Some do have very very good factory wood.
Factory rifles with factory barrels that have been rechambered, maybe the forearm has been changed from Semi Beavertail to Alex Henry. Extractort change if required. Mostly in "hunting" cartridges so I can hold them with my bad left hand. ;-)

There are probably a bunch more but off the top of my head .........

The last 2 "Customss" are being built and engraved as we speak, custom wood, etc one #1 in 257 Roberts with a tapered octagon barrel and another #2 in 257AI with custom wood and modifications in shape of the factory #3 lever.
Of the 50+ or so I own now, probably at least half have been modified or customized in some way.

No, I do a bit of "tinkering" but anything serious gets handled by my poor, long suffering, smith (local) or in the case of re-barrels I usually let Douglas or Shilen build the barrel and do all of the barrel work.
The stock guy is in NC and the checkering guy is in VA.

I bought this "custom" 300 Weatherby about 8 mos ago. It has a 28" douglas premium barrel, and a factory stock that had been boogered up a little. The new stock is on, now my next move is to have the barrel cut to 26" and fluted.

Well, I suppose these qualify as custom. Stainless Pac-Nor barrels, one in .243 Win and the other in .30-06 Sprg. Forends bedded to spring hangers and receivers. Laminated stocks, dimensioned to simulate "1AB". Safeties trimmed to allow ejection without hangups. 3-1/2 lb trigger pulls. Black Gun-Kote.

The stocks were made by Wenig and bedded and finished by Carolina Precision Rifles (who also did the rest of the project assembly.)
